CONROE, TX – The Conroe Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Jacob Sustaita, kicks off its 23rd Season with, A Season of Firsts, opening with Masquerade Ball: Keep the Music Alive on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 7:30 P.M. at Conroe High School, located at 3200 West Davis Street (SH 105) in Conroe.

The Conroe Symphony Orchestra officially welcomes its new Music Director and Conductor, Dr. Jacob Sustaita, who explained that “a new season is one of my favorite moments, as this will be a season that celebrates beginnings and milestones. One of our goals is to offer greater access to symphonic and popular music for all types of audiences in Conroe and visitors alike.  With that in mind, we have created an exhilarating “Season of Firsts”, full of electrifying works.”  Sustaita intends to feature the work of a female composer at every concert, as well as selecting repertoire that highlights composer’s first works and first movements, and so much more. This will be a sensational season for the CSO, and I look forward to seeing many new faces,” added Sustaita.


This first concert features selections of Into the Storm by Robert Smith, A Rockin’ Halloween by Michael Story, Symphony in E minor mvt 1 by Amy Beach, Highlights from Wicked by Stephen Schwartz and will round out the perfect evening with Selections from Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Aladdin Suite for Orchestra by Alan Menken. This special concert will entertain young and old, so make plans to attend.  Tickets are available at the door for $20 for adults; $5 for children under 12 years of age and special group rates of 10 or more purchased prior to the concert.

Ticket and Venue Information

During its Season of Firsts, the Conroe Symphony Orchestra will perform three of the concerts at Conroe High School, located at 3200 W Davis Street (SH 105), Conroe, as well as two at Mim’s Baptist Church, located at 1609 Porter Road, Conroe. Tickets for individual concerts are $20 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under, with special rates available for groups of 10 or more prior to the concert. Season tickets are available for $80 per person, which includes admission to the first four concerts and two complimentary tickets to any concert of your choice; the patriotic concert is free-of-charge. Tickets may be ordered by calling the Symphony Centre at 936-760-2144/888-823-6610 or purchased in person at the Conroe Symphony Centre, located at 1500 N Frazier in Conroe (please call for office hours). Tickets for performances will also be available at the door prior to each concert.
