Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 13, 2026
The Conroe Symphony Orchestra is committed to making live orchestral music accessible to everyone in our community. This includes making our website, our concerts, and our venues welcoming and usable for people of all abilities.
If you need an accommodation to enjoy a CSO concert, please contact us. We are here to help.
Our Commitment
Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is part of our mission. We strive to:
- Provide a website that is usable by people with a wide range of abilities
- Offer venue accommodations that allow every patron to enjoy our concerts comfortably
- Continuously improve our practices based on feedback from our community
Website Accessibility
We work to ensure that our website meets or exceeds the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. This includes:
- Readable content. We use clear typography, sufficient color contrast, and legible font sizes.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements can be accessed using a keyboard alone.
- Screen reader compatibility. We use semantic HTML and alternative text for images so that screen readers can accurately describe our content.
- Scalable text. Text on our site can be enlarged using browser zoom without losing functionality.
- Alternative formats. Important content is available in multiple formats where possible.
We regularly review and update our website with accessibility in mind. If you encounter a barrier on our site, we want to know.
Concert and Venue Accessibility
Our concerts are held at First Methodist Church Conroe (4308 W Davis St, Conroe, TX 77304). The venue offers the following accessibility features:
- Accessible parking near the entrance
- Ground-level entry with no stairs required
- Wheelchair-accessible seating
- Accessible restrooms
Requesting Accommodations
If you need a specific accommodation to attend a concert — such as wheelchair-accessible seating, assistance during intermission, large-print programs, or sensory-friendly considerations — please contact us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
Please reach out at least TWO WEEKS before the concert if possible, so we have time to prepare. If your request is closer to the concert date, we will still do our best to accommodate you.

Financial Accessibility
We believe that financial barriers should not prevent anyone from experiencing live orchestral music. If cost is a concern, please contact us. We work with community partners to offer complimentary or reduced-cost tickets for those who need them.
No one should miss a concert because of finances. Please ask.
Family and Sensory Accessibility
Our concerts welcome families and audiences of all ages. If you or a family member has sensory sensitivities, please know:
- You are welcome to step out during a performance and return between pieces
- A quiet space may be available in the venue if you need a break — please ask a Friend of the Symphony volunteer at the door
- Our lobby is open before and after the concert, and during intermission
Feedback and Suggestions
We welcome your feedback on how we can make the Conroe Symphony Orchestra more accessible. If you experience a barrier — on our website, at a concert, or in any interaction with us — please tell us. Your feedback helps us improve.

Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a checkbox. As our understanding grows and technologies evolve, we will continue to improve our website, our venues, and our programs to serve every member of our community.
Live music is for everyone. Thank you for helping us live up to that promise.
